Challenges, Workouts and Sections

Challenges

Every few months we come out with a Challenge. Think of this as a workout programme that goes over multiple days or weeks. Our Challenges typically last anywhere from 14 to 45 days. When a new challenge is launched every member of DanceToned starts the challenge at the same time so we can cheer each other along and help motivate us all. Throughout a Challenge the workouts will start off easier at the beginning and get harder over time. It’s important that you don’t skip any days, even if you feel like it's too easy. The aim is to burn calories, have perfect form and to build an extremely strong core.

Workouts

A challenge is usually themed and is made up of many workouts. We do 1 workout a day and usually have 1-2 days off per week. So a 21 day challenge will usually be 6 workouts and 1 rest day per week

Sections

Each workout is made up of multiple sections. A section is 1 song in length and is a workout type - for example a ‘Cardio Section’, Arm Section’ or ‘Core Section. Each section has a level and title to help you understand what you are doing in that day's workout. The levels are from 1-5. Level 1 being the easiest and level 5 being the most difficult. The names let you know what type of workout it is and what to expect. This also means you will grow to have your favorite sections. For example a section might be called L3 Cardio Abs. This means it’s a Level 3 section and will be working out your Abs.

All workouts have a warm up section, a cool-down section and multiple workout sections in between. So the sections are put together to make a workout and workouts happen daily over a period of time to create a challenge.

Challenge Levels

Challenges are usually released in 3 levels. Beginner, intermediate and advanced. It's the sections in each workout that makes a challenge easier or more difficult. In general Beginner challenges are usually made up of level 1 and 2 sections, Intermediate levels 2, 3 and 4. Advanced Challenges are usually level 3, 4 and 5.

Our beginner challenges are called Startup and our advanced challenges are called Next Level.

If there is no group Challenge happening then you can go start any of the hero courses from the beginning and work through them in your own time. Some people like to take a bit of a break between challenges and then take a few easier workouts while waiting for the next challenge to start.
